The Harrison County Home celebrated Christmas with its annual Christmas party Dec. 19. Residents received gifts donated by area residents.
Family members also attended, enjoying refreshments and music. County Home officials thanked everyone who attended and those who donated.
“I love to see them smile,” Activities Coordinator Kim Burgins said. “We’ve had churches and several other groups from various places come in and sing to entertain the residents this month.”
Burgins said staff members also adopted residents to help ensure everyone had a special Christmas. Santa Claus visited, portrayed by Ronnie Beaird. Noel Evans was crowned king and Hazel Wood was crowned queen.
According to a statement on the Harrison County Home website, the facility’s goal is to “continually meet the needs of the residents of Harrison County and the surrounding area, while remaining economically and strategically prepared as the first choice for either a short-term or long-term living arrangement.” The statement also noted the home offers private-room accommodations and encourages couples to consider those options.
In June, the County Home and the Harrison County Visitors Center held a ribbon-cutting for a new dining and activity room.
