Harrison Central marching band entertains residents at County Home
Students return for second annual performance, bringing music, signs and smiles to residents.
Residents at the Harrison County Home enjoyed a lively afternoon Sept. 16 when the Harrison Central Marching Band returned for a special performance.
The band first visited the facility in 2024 at the invitation of Nursing Supervisor Ronnie Beaird and Activities Director Kim Burgins. After the success of that event, residents were eager to welcome the students and director Eric Zalenski back for an encore performance.
This year’s visit included doughnuts provided by Dunkin’ Donuts for students, staff and residents. Several residents participated by holding “Go Huskies” signs, including Jim Milliken, Diane Smith, Gene Richards, Hazel Wood, Betty Wright, Martin Purtiman and Virginia Patton.
“On behalf of the residents and staff at the County Home, we want to thank Mr. Zalenski for coming to the home and playing music,” Beaird said. “The residents really enjoyed the music and the company of the director and the students.”
