Harrison Central cross-country runners set personal bests at Nanny Goat Invitational
Freshman Knox Krupinski places eighth, while Aubrie Moss records a new personal record in girls’ race.
Harrison Central’s cross-country teams competed Sept. 17 in the Nanny Goat Invitational at West Holmes, with several Huskies recording strong showings and one runner achieving a personal best.
Freshman Knox Krupinski continued his steady improvement, placing eighth in the boys’ race out of 89 runners with a time of 16:48. Kodence Ortiz finished 48th at 14:36. Michael Abel took 38th in a field of 83 at 21:46, and Bryce Sobleski placed 68th in 23:31.
On the girls’ side, Aubrie Moss highlighted the day by setting a new personal record. Moss placed 27th out of 64 runners with a time of 24:26. “I had a good run today; I didn’t really realize that I was approaching a new best record until I was getting close to the finish,” Moss said.
Teammate Lilly Renner finished 62nd with a time of 33:44.
“All of our runners did well today,” Harrison Central head coach Doug Drapp said. “At the rate in which they continue to improve, I am looking for some very good finishing times moving forward. I am very happy for Aubrie Moss and her accomplishment today. She will probably even continue to surprise herself with her times as we move along. Ortiz and Kurpinski were about two minutes apart today and that was very good to see. Renner, Abel and Sobleski always give their best, and their best grows each meet.”
