Harrison Central bowlers return from break, split matches
The Huskies travel to Wellsburg, West Virginia, Friday, Jan. 16 to face the Brooke Bruins
The Harrison Central Husky bowlers returned to action after the holiday break Jan. 6, facing the Linsly Cadets at JR Lanes in New Athens. Linsly fielded a varsity boys team only.
Aiden Pettit led the Huskies with a 377 series. Aaden Arbaugh rolled 334 and Colston Kirkpatrick added 319. Wyatt Durbin posted 265 and Owen Whitacre had 116. Harrison Central won 1,908-1,665.
The Huskies traveled to St. Clairsville Jan. 8 to face the Red Devils.
Colston Kirkpatrick led the Husky boys with a 453 series. Pettit rolled 365, Whitacre had 333 and Arbaugh added 305. Cory Kirkpatrick contributed 164 in Game 2 as Harrison Central finished with 2,068, but St. Clairsville won 2,123-2,068.
In the girls match, St. Clairsville edged Harrison Central 1,742-1,709. Jaylee Byers led Harrison Central with 324, followed by Tayla Thompson with 299. Mercedez Cooper rolled 275, Bralee Thomas had 267 and Sophie Bland added 236. St. Clairsville was led by Ashlen Sikora with 365, Kalia Hughes with 336 and Annabee Bartyzel with 288. Mackenzie Jackson rolled 224 and Alayna Clark added 216.
Harrison Central returns to St. Clairsville Monday, Jan. 12 to face Buckeye Local. The last meeting between the teams Dec. 3 ended with a narrow win for the Husky boys and a Buckeye Local win for the girls.
The Huskies return to St. Clairsville Tuesday for the Buckeye 8 Tournament, then travel to Wellsburg, West Virginia, Friday, Jan. 16 to face the Brooke Bruins.
