Conotton Valley girls bowlers reach 100-win milestone
The team is led by head coach Brian Baxter and assistant coach Robyn King
The Conotton Valley girls bowling team reached a major milestone with its 100th all-time match victory against Harrison Central.
The team is led by head coach Brian Baxter and assistant coach Robyn King, now in their seventh season guiding the program. During their tenure, the Rockets have earned 12 tournament championships, produced three All-Ohio bowlers, helped five athletes advance to the collegiate level and captured the Division II state championship in 2023.
The achievement is especially notable because Baxter and King founded the Conotton Valley girls bowling program, with its first season held in 2019-20.
Before arriving at Conotton Valley, Baxter coached at Massillon and Claymont, compiling 119 wins. Combined with his 100 victories at CV, his career total now stands at 219 wins. He has been named coach of the year seven times, including Ohio girls bowling coach of the year in 2023, and was also nominated that year for Ohio coach of the year across all sports. Baxter is a member of the Dover–New Philadelphia USBC Association Hall of Fame.
King is a member of the Stark County High School Bowling Conference Hall of Fame.
