Cassidy receives all-Ohio accolades
Though the 2023-24 basketball season has ended, the outside accolades for Harrison Central athletes continue to pour in. It was recently announced that Hayden Cassidy had received District recognition and received All-Ohio recognition for his play during his final season as a Husky.
“Hayden has always had a scoring mentality which he shows through his willingness to score for us this season,” said Harrison Central’s Head Boys Basketball Coach Aaron Foldi. “I’m proud of Hayden in his journey from his freshman year to now. I was able to see Hayden grow as a player and show resilience in the face of adversity both on and off the court. All-Ohio is such an honor and I couldn’t be prouder of Hayden!”
Cassidy’s D-III recognition was released on Thursday. His abilities landed him in the Special Mention category. Only three other players accompanied him in this special category: Bellaire’s Mac Pettigrew, Union Local’s Dre Sanders, and Buckeye Trail’s Charlie Perry.
“I’m happy that I received this honor, but more importantly in receiving it, it reflects that I worked hard for the team,” Cassidy said. “All season long we played well, and our record reflected that. I will miss the excitement of playing with this group of teammates. I think that each of us knew what the other was doing on the court, and we were able to play off of that knowledge. I hate to see my prep basketball end, and I hope people realize that what I accomplished was for the school and the team, and not just for me. I want to thank my coaches, my teammates, my family, and the community for their support over the years!”
