Cadiz village administrator speaks at chamber’s November meeting
Ludwig covered a range of topics and answered questions from attendees
Cadiz Village Administrator Brandon Ludwig was the guest speaker for the Harrison County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Nov. 20, monthly meeting. The meeting was held at the Cadiz Country Club and attended by representatives from 12 businesses and organizations.
Ludwig covered a range of topics and answered questions from attendees. His updates included infrastructure improvements such as $30 million in upgrades to the village’s sewer collection system and water projects supported by funding from Congressman Mike Rulli’s office for phase three of the village’s water improvements. He said the village is currently in phase two, which involves identifying and replacing lead service lines and installing new cellular-read water meters.
He also noted that 2025 OPWC projects include resurfacing Liggett Lane and Martin and Holmes avenues. The village’s 2026 application will consist of paving and waterline work on Charleston Street.
Ludwig said Sally Buffalo Park continues to see upgrades as the village works to create more opportunities for residents to use its amenities.
“The work that needs done in the yards after the new water meter readers were installed will probably be done next week,” Ludwig said. He added that a new restaurant planned for the former Ranch to Table location is still in progress. “We want to be able to have a good partnership with all of the businesses in Cadiz.”
He also told attendees the village would look into any issues involving difficulty reaching offices in the city building. “I want to thank all the businesses that are in Cadiz and continue to support the community in any way that they can,” he said.
After brief introductions and comments from attendees, HCRCC Executive Director Milos Baker discussed upcoming chamber events and efforts to strengthen collaboration with the Cadiz Business Association.
“I would like to see the HCRCC and the CBA do a lot more together in 2026,” Baker said. “I believe we could partner in a lot of the things that make the village a better place.”
Baker also reminded attendees of the upcoming chamber awards ceremony set for Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Cadiz Country Club. The event will honor Riesbeck’s Supermarkets for its service to the community. “Riesbeck’s has been a valuable resource to our communities, and we want to show our gratitude,” he said.
“Thank you all for coming out today and please enjoy your time with your families over Thanksgiving,” Baker said.
Those in attendance included Brittany Mattern of B’s Bouquets; Trisha Mamula of Mamula Demolitions; Callie Anderson of Woodsfield Savings Bank; Becky Fulton and Kate Kimble of Knight/Miller Law; Joyce Klingler, Nan Mattern and George Beadway of HCRCC; Megan Stader of Huntington Bank; Dan Wilson of DJFS; and Barbara Korba.
