Cadiz Eagles donate $5,000 to Pulling for a Cure cancer project
The Cadiz Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2162 recently donated $5,000 to the Pulling for a Cure cancer project. Monday’s gift marked the second $5,000 contribution the organization has received in six days, bringing the total to $10,000.
Pulling for a Cure members Sharon Butterfield-Johnson and Kiz Dulkoski-Winter, who have been canvassing Harrison County and surrounding areas for donations to assist cancer patients, were on hand to accept the check.
“We are determined to do everything we need to do to help the people in Harrison County and the surrounding area,” Winter said. “This donation is the second in the amount of $5,000 that we have recently received. Last Wednesday, the Hopedale Legion was kind enough to make a donation of this size.”
She added that the group still has many organizations and businesses to visit. “We certainly want to thank the Cadiz Fraternal Order of Eagles for the very generous contribution. This donation, like Hopedale’s, will go a long way in providing for the expenses of our friends and neighbors. As always, we like to say, ‘The community gives to us, we give back to the community.’”
Butterfield-Johnson and Dulkoski-Winter have mapped an aggressive tour of the region. As of Monday, they had three more stops planned for the week in Harrison and Jefferson counties.
