Beaver Local volleyball sweeps Harrison Central in straight sets
Lady Huskies fall to 4-11 overall after tough home loss against 12-1 Beaver Local.
Harrison Central’s volleyball teams endured a lopsided night at home Sept. 18, falling in both junior varsity and varsity action to Beaver Local.
The Lady Huskies combined for only 40 points across the two matches, as Beaver Local continued its strong season. The Lady Beavers entered Cadiz with a 12-1 overall record and an Ohio ranking of 148. Harrison Central, now 4-11 overall, stands at 1-2 in conference play and ranks 679 statewide.
The junior varsity match set the tone early, with Harrison dropping sets 25-9 and 25-10.
In varsity action, Beaver Local controlled from the opening serve. The Huskies managed just four points in the first set, falling 25-4. The second set ended in a 25-8 defeat, as Beaver Local’s aggressive pace and depth overwhelmed Harrison. Even with frequent substitutions, the Beavers kept extending their advantage.
The third set proved Harrison’s best effort, but the Huskies still fell 25-9. Beaver Local closed out the sweep with a dominant overall point margin of 75-21.
While the loss was a difficult one for Harrison Central, the Huskies remain competitive in conference play as they look to rebound in upcoming matches.
