Coshocton Historical Club revisits 1913 flood
Local residents share stories and photos of historic floods at recent meeting
The Coshocton Historical Club met Monday, March 9 and discussed the Flood of 1913.
There were between 30 and 40 people who attended the meeting. Dianne Peffer and Nancy Scott shared the background of the Flood of 1913, what started the flooding and how widespread the devastation was.
Following the program, which included pictures shown by Glenn Kinkade, a portable mic was passed around to the audience. People shared stories of the flood's effects in the communities of Keene, Plainfield and Roscoe and also discussed the Flood of 1969 in Killbuck, Warsaw, Clark, et cetera.
Several people brought pictures to share. Coshocton Historical Club welcomed four new members at the meeting.
