Youth Leadership Spotlight
CCYL class prepares for February project
Youth Leadership members focused on adapting to change and planning pay-it-forward initiatives
On Jan. 21 Coshocton County Youth Leadership attended the program day, “Who Moved My Cheese? For Teens.”
Our program planner was Betsy Gosnell. We started the day off by discussing recruitment for the CCYL Class of 2027 and our pay-it-forward projects. After our discussion we each recorded a 30-second advertisement with Becky Jacobs from WTNS Radio about CCYL.
We continued our morning by discussing examples of voluntary and involuntary change and our fears, which then led into an IQ test about which character from “Who Moved My Cheese? For Teens” we were the most like. After finding out which character we were most like, we watched the movie version of “Who Moved My Cheese? For Teens.” The main reason for “Who Moved My Cheese? For Teens” is to learn how to adapt to change.
Then we had a presentation from Seth Dotson about the services provided at Coshocton County Job & Family Services. After his presentation we were given a short tour of the building. After the tour we had lunch that was provided by Schumaker’s. After lunch we had a presentation from Taylor Smith and Lisa Scott about the services provided by OhioMeansJobs. Both presentations that were given to us helped us learn about important services that can be given to those who may need assistance.
To end the day, every member gave a five-minute presentation about a leader they chose to research. This presentation was to help prepare us for our pay-it-forward project presentations that will be given at the February program day.
Our group is very fortunate to learn about the services that can be provided in Coshocton County for those who may need some extra assistance.
