Wayne County hosts Creole music event
Dennis Stroughmatt et L’Esprit Creole to perform March 29 at the Wayne County Historical Society in Wooster
The Wayne County Historical Society will present Dennis Stroughmatt et L’Esprit Creole as part of its Voices from the Past Series at 2 p.m. March 29 in the Schoolhouse on the WCHS grounds, 546 E. Bowman St., Wooster.
Stroughmatt, lead vocalist and fiddler, will perform with guitarist Rob Krumm and bassist Greg Bigler. The program will highlight music, language, stories and culture, blending Celtic, Canadian and Old Time sounds. The performance bridges contemporary Canadian and Louisiana Cajun musical styles.
Tickets are $15 and are available at the Wayne County Historical Society from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and at Murr Printing from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The event is part of the historical society’s Voices from the Past Series, now in its 33rd season.
