Orrville, Wooster Township awarded federal funding for new fire stations

Congressman Max Miller secures $3.75 million in appropriations for local public-safety projects

U.S. Congressman Max Miller announced several infrastructure projects in Northeast Ohio were funded in the Senate Amendment 3937 to H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026. In addition to continuing government funding at current levels through Jan. 30, 2026, this bill provides full-year funding for three annual appropriations bills.

Miller worked with local officials to advance 15 projects for consideration this year, of which three were included in this bill. All projects were vetted, and those selected will be overseen to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent properly. To be funded, each project must be included in appropriations legislation that is approved by both houses of Congress and signed into law by the president.

Projects benefiting the area include the following:

—City of Orrville: $750,000 for the design and construction of a new fire station.

—Wooster Township: $3 million for the construction of a new fire station.

Miller represents Ohio’s Seventh District, which includes Medina and Wayne counties as well as parts of Cuyahoga and Holmes counties.
