The Orrville Railroad Heritage Society will host its Roar at the Rails Hot Rod and Muscle Car Show and Vintage Sock Hop on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Car enthusiasts can admire hot rods and muscle cars from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s during the show, which will run until 1:30 p.m. Couples are encouraged to dress in vintage clothing from the era for the sock hop, scheduled from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Trophies will be awarded for People’s Choice for first, second and third place at 1 p.m. and for Best Couples Costume at 3 p.m. The first 50 car show participants will receive a dash plaque.
Entry fees are $20 per car for the show, which includes a train ride and dance admission, or $10 per couple for the dance only. Train rides in open air car #501 will run at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., with tickets sold on-site for $10 per seat. Munsey Meats will provide catering, and attendees can enter 50/50 and Chinese raffles.
All proceeds will support the maintenance and operation of the Orrville Railroad Heritage Society’s 1868 Union Depot and rail yard.
