Wayne County Community Foundation funds versatile UTV to boost park maintenance and citywide support

The Rittman Recreation Center received a $16,500 grant from the Wayne County Community Foundation to purchase a new utility vehicle that will support park maintenance, community projects and various city operations.

The Rittman Recreation Center announced it has received a $16,500 grant from the Wayne County Community Foundation to support the purchase of a new Kubota Side-by-Side Utility Terrain Vehicle. This grant strengthens the City of Rittman’s ability to maintain public spaces, enhance community projects and provide efficient support services year round.

The UTV will be used across a variety of essential city operations including daily park maintenance throughout Rittman’s recreational facilities, Main Street flower watering and downtown beautification initiatives, ongoing maintenance and conservation work at the William J. Robertson Nature Preserve, and citywide support tasks such as hauling materials, transporting equipment and assisting multiple departments as needed.

“This grant allows us to expand our capabilities and maintain the high standards our community expects,” said Garrick C. Di Salvo, park and recreation director with the City of Rittman. “We are grateful to the Wayne County Community Foundation for their continued support of Rittman’s parks and recreation initiatives.”
