Day of Caring 2026 set for Orrville, Dalton and Marshallville
Volunteer event set for May 6 with project applications open until March 27.
Orrville Area United Way and the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce announced the return of Day of Caring, scheduled Wednesday, May 6.
This annual event brings together businesses, individuals and small groups for a morning of volunteer work, fostering connections, and creating a lasting impact in Dalton, Marshallville and Orrville.
Building on the success of 2025, organizers are preparing for another event in 2026.
In 2025, 430 volunteers from 35 organizations completed 73 projects across the community, demonstrating the power of collaboration and the caring spirit that defines the area. This year Orrville High School graduating seniors will join business and organizational volunteers through a continued partnership with Senior Service Day, further expanding the event’s reach.
Applications for community projects are currently being accepted. Nonprofits, churches, senior care facilities, schools, social service organizations and local government departments are encouraged to submit project proposals by March 27.
Volunteer registration is now open and runs through April 3. Individuals and teams are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.
For more information, to submit a project proposal, register as a volunteer or learn about sponsorship opportunities, visit www.orrvilleareaunitedway.org.
“The continued growth of Day of Caring is a testament to the generosity and heart of our community,” said James Carpenter, executive director of Orrville Area United Way. “Together, we’re excited to make an even greater impact this year.”
