Medina students win top art awards
Three seniors recognized at Scholastic Art & Writing Awards exhibition at Kent State Stark.
Three Medina High School seniors earned regional honors in the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, with one Gold Key work advancing to national consideration.

Three senior art students from Medina High School were recognized for their exceptional talent in the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a nationally respected program that celebrates creative excellence in visual arts and writing.
The students were honored at the exhibition’s opening reception this past weekend, where their award-winning artwork was displayed alongside other distinguished student pieces from across the region. Their recognition highlights both individual artistic achievement and the strength of the district’s visual arts program.
Student honors include:
Parker Bistline — Silver Key Award
Kate Conley — Gold Key Award and Silver Key Award. Conley’s Gold Key artwork has advanced and will be considered for national-level awards.
Eve Poechtrager — Silver Key Award and Honorable Mention
The students’ work was featured in the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Exhibition, which was open to the public through Feb. 6.
The exhibition was held at Kent State University at Stark in the Fine Arts Building, including the William J. and Pearl F. Lemmon Visiting Artist Gallery and the MJ and Pat Albacete Student Art Gallery.
