MCBDD to host benefits workshop for families, individuals with disabilities
Free hybrid presentation will cover Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare options
The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities will host an “Understanding Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare Workshop” on May 27 to help families and individuals with disabilities better understand available benefits and long-term support options.
The free workshop will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. both in person at the Medina County Achievement Center, 4691 Windfall Road, Medina, and virtually through Microsoft Teams.
Kim Bernardi, MCBDD quality support and benefits analyst specialist, will lead the presentation. The workshop will focus on simplifying information related to Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare systems, which organizers say can often feel complex and overwhelming for families and individuals navigating disability services.
Attendees will learn about available benefits, how to access them, asset limits, the impact of employment income and other planning considerations for long-term support.
The workshop is open to the public, and registration is requested.
Registration information is available on the MCBDD events calendar at mcbdd.org. For additional information, contact Maggie Skultety, MCBDD training coordinator, at 330-725-7751, ext. 133, or email mskultety@mcbdd.org.
