Harvest Presbyterian launches Guest Artist Series with Matt Papa concert Sept. 6
Acclaimed hymn writer joins Nashville duo Zach & Maggie White for an intimate evening of worship and music in Medina.
Harvest Presbyterian Church in Medina will open its fall Guest Artist Series on Sept. 6 with an acoustic concert by acclaimed singer, musician and modern hymn writer Matt Papa, joined by the Nashville-based string duo Zach & Maggie White.
Papa’s music is sung in churches worldwide, with songs such as His Mercy is More, Christ Our Hope in Life and Death and Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery becoming staples in modern worship. Known for weaving biblical truths into contemporary hymn arrangements, he blends soulful performance with personal storytelling, giving audiences a glimpse into the scriptural and life experiences that inspire each song.
“It’s become meaningful to me to know that I’m a part of something way bigger than me,” Papa said. “I’m trying to create songs that outlast me and that unify the church and glorify God.”
This year, Papa earned his fourth GMA Dove Award nomination for Christus Victor (Amen), a hymn co-written with Keith and Kristyn Getty, Matt Boswell and Bryan Fowler. The Medina concert comes directly after he and the Whites perform for 7,000 people at the national Sing! Worship Conference. While that stage is massive, the Medina performance will be deliberately intimate, with just 250 seats.
Zach & Maggie White are known for their rich harmonies, dynamic string work and multi-instrumental talent, having performed at Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry and the Sydney Opera House. Their vibrant arrangements and warm stage presence add depth to Papa’s songs and create a collaborative, one-of-a-kind live experience.
Senior Pastor Seth Young said, “The Guest Artist Series has been one of the ways Harvest seeks to serve our community. It’s a perfect opportunity to enjoy the Lord and the beautiful music that he has gifted us through the talent of those made in his image. There’s a special dynamic that takes place during a live concert. It will be so good to have people together to share this evening.”
The Guest Artist Series has brought a range of celebrated Christian artists to Medina, including Sandra McCracken, Fernando Ortega, Michael Card, Sara Groves, Phil Keaggy, Selah, GLAD and Michael Kelly Blanchard.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. at Harvest Presbyterian Church, 1095 E. Reagan Parkway. Tickets are available at harvestpca.church.
