The Greatest Story Ever Told, a life drama of the life of Jesus Christ, will be performed by Community Christian Fellowship on March 28-28 and April 3.

After a hiatus of seven years, Community Christian Fellowship is again presenting “The Greatest Story Ever Told,” a live drama of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. With a cast and crew of nearly 100 ranging in age from newborn to 80 and scenery rivaling the finest offered by commercial venues, this presentation is not to be missed.

Retired pastor Bob Pelfrey brings 50 years of experience directing this long-running Easter pageant. Assistant director Erma Eash explains, “Scriptural integrity and historical authenticity are at the heart of this presentation. The background scenery, political and religious settings, and costumes are designed to bring attendees into the first century surroundings of Christ’s earthly life.”

The pageant is unique in that there is little actor dialogue. Participants act out the drama against a background of music and recorded Scripture, bringing the Bible’s words to life. Excitement, sorrow, love, grief, and final resurrection joy fill the performance with the majesty and wonder of Christ’s life, power, and forgiveness.

Certain scenes which may be disturbing to young children as Christ’s life was not a life of roses at all times. An unstaffed nursery will be available for parents who wish to remove small children during disturbing scenes.

Community Christian Fellowship is located six miles east of Gambier at 23436 Newcastle Road (Route 229). The building is wheelchair accessible. The pageant will be performed at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 27, Saturday, March 28, and Friday, April 3. Admission is free. Seating will open at 6 p.m. for those who use the QR code to reserve early seating. Regular seating will open at 6:30 p.m.
