Centerburg, Danville, Freddie wrestlers compete in Div. III district

Eleven Knox County wrestlers took aim at a district title in
the Division III wrestling districts at Troy and Coshocton.
Centerburg’s Cole Evans (215 pounds) competed in the
tournament at Coshocton, picking up one victory in three matches.

Evans dropped his opening match, 7-2, but fought back and
beat Kayse Rejonis of Bellaire, 2-1, in the consolation bracket. The senior was
then knocked out of the tournament after getting pinned in his third match.
Evans finished his senior season with a 14-21 record.
Both Danville and Fredericktown had five wrestlers each
compete at the district tournament at Troy.
Fredericktown senior Domenic Wolpe picked up a win in his
second match at 285 pounds. Wolpe was pinned in his opening match, but then
pinned Bradley Wright of Lincolnview in the consolation bracket. He lost his
next match by pin.
Owen Garver (138) and Aidan Ebersole (157) both had a
victory before getting knocked out. Garver, a freshman, won his first match by
pin, beating Logan Miller of Delphos Jefferson in 5:21. Garver then lost his
next two matches by scores of 14-2 and 15-2.
Ebersole dropped his first match by pinfall, but bounced
back with an 18-4 win over Henry Schulhoff of Madeira in the consolation
bracket. He then suffered a pin and was knocked out.
Gavin Galbraith (120) and Gage Selby (150) also
participated, losing their first two matches.

Danville also had three wrestlers win matches at district.
Freshman Kyle Hackman (113) lost his first match, but came
back with an 8-1 win over Dylan Cress of Crestview. He then fell 15-0 to get
knocked out.
Sophomore Camden Horn (126) dropped a 21-6 decision in the
first match before rallying to beat Silas Riblet of Ada, 12-7, in the
consolation bracket. A 15-2 loss then sent him home.
Sophomore Carter Wittel came out firing, pinning Eli Holley
of Blanchester in 4:23 in his first match. But the sophomore fell in his next
two matches, 15-0, and a 0:31 pin, to get knocked out.
Freshman Johnathan Stephens (106) and sophomore Cooper
Baldridge (144) both lost two matches.
