Bulldogs shoot down Redbirds, Granville Christian
East Knox boys win two of three games with fast starts, while girls hand Centerburg its first loss of the season
The East Knox boys' basketball team won two of three games this week.
East Knox and Ridgedale battled for four quarters before the Rockets were to escape with a 54-50 victory on Dec. 8.
The teams were tied at 40 entering the final period before Ridgedale came out with the win.
Kyson Miller scored 18 points to lead the Bulldogs. Peyton Hull added 14, while Mason Payne had six.
East Knox came out on fire Dec. 10, cruising to a 60-22 victory over Loudonville in a Knox Morrow Athletic Conference game at East Knox.
The Bulldogs led 21-7 after one quarter, then held the Redbirds to just two points in the second quarter to pull away.
Hull scored 15 points, including 10 in the first quarter to lead the Bulldogs. Payne added 14, while Jaxon Crawford had 12 and Miller nine.
Another huge start led to another win for East Knox on Dec. 13.
The Bulldogs outscored Granville Christian 22-8 in the first quarter en route to a 56-43 victory.
Crawford poured in 17 points, including nine in the first quarter, to lead EK. Miller added 11, while Rush Beatty had seven and Payne five.
Girls' basketball
The East Knox girls’ basketball team knocked off previously undefeated Centerburg, 46-33, on Dec. 12.
The Bulldogs were led by Ava Faucett, who had 14 points. Malena Streby added 13, while Jasmine Smith had 10 and Izzy Bostic had nine.
