Canton social media influencer to visit Mount Vernon
Moore expects to showcase local restaurants, attractions
The Knox County Chamber of Commerce announce that Canton-based social media influencer Derek Malone will be visiting Mount Vernon at the end of May to experience and showcase the area’s dining, entertainment, and local attractions.
With a combined social media following of more than 2 million, Malone, also known as Sniping for Dom, is recognized for promoting local businesses and highlighting what they offer through engaging review videos, photos, and social media posts.
Over the years, Malone has been featured on television, in more than 19 magazines, and in numerous news articles. He averages around 10-30 million views each month across his social media platforms. He is passionate about supporting small businesses and helping them succeed through increased visibility and community engagement.
“We’re excited to welcome Derek to Mount Vernon and showcase the outstanding businesses that make Knox County such a wonderful place to live and work,” said Stephanie Blanchard, programs and social media coordinator for the Knox County Chamber of Commerce. “He has partnered with other chambers across Ohio, and I’ve heard firsthand about the positive impact his videos have had in encouraging customers to visit local businesses.”
Blanchard added, “He recently stopped by Burrata Woodfired and shared that he was very impressed by the food, cocktails, and staff. He is looking forward to returning to town to explore even more of what Mount Vernon has to offer.”
As his schedule allows, Malone plans to visit restaurants and other businesses in Mount Vernon during his stay.
Restaurants and retail businesses interested in participating in a video opportunity are encouraged to contact Blanchard at the chamber office to inquire about availability at chamber@knoxchamber.com, no later than Friday, May 22.
