Former Mount Vernon High School golf coach Anthony Savage won the 2026 OPGA Mid-Am Championships, held May 9-10 at Apple Valley Golf Course.
Savage fired an even-par 72, then followed that up with a 68 to win the title by two strokes over Dan Martina (140-142).
Several other Knox County natives participated in the tournament.

U.S. Open Local Qualifier
Mount Vernon golf coach and former PGA Canada Tour member T.T. Crouch qualified for the third time in four years for the U.S. Open Final qualifying after shooting a 68 in the Local Qualifier on Monday at Scioto Reserve Country Club.
Crouch was one of six players who moved on to the final qualifier and will get a shot at competing in this year’s U.S. Open on June 15-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York. He will compete Monday, June 8, at the Lakes Golf & Country Club in Westerville.
Also competing at Scioto but missing the cut was Lucas Massa of Howard, who shot 71 to tie for 18th place; and Bennett Hill of Centerburg, who shot 79.
