World premiere of A Christmas Carol: An Arts Alive Musical set for Ohio Theatre in Loudonville
New adaptation of Dickens’ classic features original music, choreography and a 62-member cast in a festive celebration of redemption and holiday spirit
The world premiere of "A Christmas Carol: An Arts Alive Musical," a new interpretation of Charles Dickens’ holiday story, will take place on stage at The Ohio Theatre in Loudonville.
Running Nov. 20-23, this world-premiere production will transport audiences to Victorian London, where they will join Ebenezer Scrooge on his transformative journey, guided by the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet To Come. Featuring all-new songs that blend traditional holiday tunes with contemporary musical theater elements, this "A Christmas Carol" offers a fresh take on a story beloved for generations.
“We are beyond excited to bring this new musical to life,” said Sally Hollenbach, The Ohio Theatre director and creator and founder of Arts Alive. “This version of 'A Christmas Carol' remains true to the heart of Dickens’ story but with new music, choreography and theatrical magic that make it a completely unique experience. We can’t wait to share this incredible show with the community and beyond.”
Written by the creative team of Sally Hollenbach, Schuyler Hollenbach, Deaunna Morgan, Dennis Morgan, Emily Roblin, Matt Young and Lizzie Zink, the show stars Young as Ebenezer Scrooge, with Grant Hollenbach as Bob Cratchit, Jackson Arnold making his stage debut as Tiny Tim and many more in this cast of 62 actors.
A highlight of the production is its original score.
