The Talich Quartet will perform March 23 as part of the Wooster Chamber Music Series. The ensemble was founded in Prague in 1964, and although the personnel have changed, the group’s reputation as one of Europe’s finest quartets has remained the same.
The Talich Quartet has been a regular on the world stage, performing on many of the biggest podiums and taking part in global festivals. Their performances at venues like Carnegie Hall in New York, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Salle Gaveau in Paris, London’s Wigmore Hall and Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam have garnered acclaim.
The group will return to the Wooster Chamber Music Series after an absence of seven years. The quartet will honor its heritage with a program featuring works by Czech composers.
The concert will take place in Gault Recital Hall at The College of Wooster’s Scheide Music Center, 525 E. University St., at 3 p.m.
The Wooster Chamber Music Series has been presenting classical ensembles in intimate settings since 1986. Tickets are $25 and are available at the door. Middle, high school and college students are admitted for free. There will be an opportunity to meet the artists after the concert.
