WCA announces spring classes, lineup of summer camps
Wayne Center for the Arts announced the launch of its spring classes and the unveiling of a lineup of summer camps for 2025. Registration is now open for spring classes, which commence the week of March 17. The classes feature an array of offerings including new and returning favorites in visual arts, clay, dance, digital arts, creative writing and music.
New spring class highlights include the following:
—Private Music Lessons on Woodwinds.
—Toys Make Noise! | Sound Design Workshop.
—Snapshot Memoirs — Telling Your Story in Small Pieces.
—Inspiration for Art by Accident.
—Batik.
Looking ahead to summer, WCA will have a variety of camps designed to spark creativity and exploration in young minds.
Summer camp schedule
—Week one, June 9-13: Snap, Flick, Capture — Camera Camp, age 9-14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Create Your Own Creature, age 8-13, from 1-3 p.m.
—Week two, June 16-20: Heatwaves: Visual Arts/Clay Camp, age 6-9 and 10-13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
—Week three, June 23-27: So, You Wanna Be an Actor, age 8-14, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Bark in the Park: A Big Blue Adventure (ballet, tap, creative movement), age 2.5-6, from 1-3 p.m.
—Week four, July 7-11: Pink Bubbles & Emerald Energy: A Wickedly Good Time! (jazz, hip hop, musical theater), age 7-12, from 1-4 p.m., and Star of the Stage: Musical Theatre Camp, age 7-13, from 9 a.m. to noon.
—Week five, July 14-18: Perfectly Pink! Destination Dream Vacation! (jazz, hip hop), age 7-12, from 1-4 p.m.
—Week six, July 21-25: Clay Daze-Clay Camp, age 8-12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
—Week seven, July 28-31: Farm Yard Creators — Preschool Camp, age 3-6, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and Investigating Insects Camp, age 8-12, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., led by The Titanium Bug Zoo.
—Week eight, Aug. 5-9: Arts Sampler, age 6-9 and 10-13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
