Wayne commissioners holding public hearings on property tax

The Wayne County Board of Commissioners will hold two public hearings to engage with community members about reducing property taxes and establishing a sales and use tax as a replacement.

The hearings will take place Wednesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 23, both at 7 p.m. in The Commons at the Wayne County Schools Career Center, 518 W. Prospect St., Smithville.

These hearings are open to all Wayne County residents, business owners and stakeholders who wish to learn more about and provide feedback on matters impacting the community. The board encourages public participation and values the insight of those who live and work in Wayne County.
