Triway girls tennis returns several with experience
The Triway girls tennis team returns four letter-winners from a team that finished 5-4 in Principals Athletic Conference matches last season.
“As this is my first year with the team, I cannot compare to the years past, but I am expectant and excited for this upcoming season,” first-year coach Kirsten McAllister said.
Juniors Lexi Long, Lyla Rudisall, Lily Fedorchak and Annette Hemming are all back and will be joined by newcomers Peyton Barnes, Cabella Ballard and Amelia Moorman, all sophomores, and freshman Mia Ungerer.
“We have several returning players with experience,” McAllister said. “Also, the girls new to tennis are putting in the work, and it’s showing.”
McAllister is hopeful her team will put forth a strong showing in conference matches.
“The league will have several tough teams,” she said. “We hope to be competitive and are optimistic about our chances this season.”
