Stuff a bag for $5 at Goodwill sale
Goodwill Industries of Wayne and Holmes Counties recently announced its first-ever Big Haul Sale, a shopping event happening Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Building 11 of the Wayne County Fairgrounds.
This inaugural event will offer the community an opportunity to stuff an entire Goodwill shopping bag full of items for $5. Clothing, shoes, books, toys and other finds will all be included.
Bags will be provided and are the same size as a standard plastic shopping bag found at Walmart, Meijer or Buehler’s.
“This is a big moment for us and for the community,” said Casey McGrady, vice president of marketing. “We’re proud of the shopping experience we offer every day at our stores in Wooster, Orrville, Rittman, Millersburg and Loudonville, but this is something totally new. It’s fast, fun and just in time for back to school. Plus, Ohio’s sales tax holiday runs Aug. 1-14, so the timing couldn’t be better.”
Furniture items also will be available at discounted prices.
Attendees’ purchases will do more than fill their closets, as 90 cents of every dollar spent will be reinvested into local programs including youth and adult services, job-readiness training, case management and more in Wayne and Holmes counties.
“This event isn’t just about the deals,” McGrady said. “It’s about helping our neighbors overcome barriers and find new opportunities. Shopping with us helps change lives.”
