Sprang leads West Holmes boys basketball to win over Loudonville

The West Holmes boys basketball team rolled to a 59-36 win over Loudonville in a nonleague clash Dec. 27.

Nate Sprang led the Knights with 25 points and seven rebounds. Cooper Maltarich chipped in 18 points, and Billy Patten pulled down five rebounds.

Wooster picked up a 65-48 victory over West Holmes in Ohio Cardinal Conference play Dec. 23.

Keston McKinney (15 points, seven rebounds), Preston Troyer (14 points, five rebounds), Maltarich (nine points, four rebounds) and Sprang (five rebounds) paced WH.

Girls basketball

West Holmes cruised to a 48-32 win over John Glenn in a nonconference battle Dec. 27.

Briar Cline (13 points, nine rebounds), Cara McMillen (nine points, seven steals), Rorie Wilcox (eight points), Gabby Fowler (five rebounds), Mati Fair (three assists) and Zalina Proper (three steals) led the Lady Knights.

Girls bowling

West Holmes picked up a 1,597-688 victory over St. Peter’s in a nonconference clash Dec. 23.

Aubree Young (179-165-344), Madison Brenneman (172-146-318) and Hallie Maurer (159-124-283) paced WH.

Boys bowling

West Holmes rolled to a 1,842-1,188 win over St. Peter’s in nonleague play Dec. 23.

Sean Klutz (147-222-369), Cameron Young (177-190-367) and Clayton Beckett (176-170-346) led the Knights.

Junior varsity boys basketball

West Holmes beat Loudonville 53-32 on Dec. 27.

Jaden Baker led WH with 20 points.

Freshman boys basketball

West Holmes beat Garaway 46-28 on Dec. 27.

Ryder Fox (10 points), Eb Al-Sultan (eight) and Kolton Taggart (eight) led the Knights.
