Sonnenberg Station to perform
Sonnenberg Station will perform traditional spirituals, familiar folk songs and classics, and several original arrangements when the 17-voice choral ensemble returns to OrrVilla Retirement Community on Monday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
Led by director Tim Shue and accompanied by Tim Yoder, the men’s group explores a variety of cultures, eras and styles in their music.
Deriving their name from a local landmark in the Sonnenberg Valley, northeast of Kidron, they continue to weave a thread of local culture to an area where many of their ancestors lived. Audience members can expect to hear songs from all singing traditions: from high church traditions, to mountain spirituals, to sea chanteys, to big city gospel, to folk song and more.
The program at OrrVilla’s Maple Terrace, 333 E. Sassafras St., Orrville, is free and open to the public.
