The third annual Link Bowling Fundraiser is all about having a great time bowling while helping individuals with disabilities. The event will take place May 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Wayne Lanes, 1983 Lincoln Way E., Wooster. Everyone is invited to bowl, sponsor and/or donate a raffle item to help make the evening a success.
The Link-Wayne will host the event and is a program of The Society, a nonprofit organization partnering with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live their best lives.
“The Link Day Program is all about supporting individuals with disabilities as they get out into the community, build connections and just enjoy life,” said Aliyah Collins, adult day service supervisor at The Link-Wayne. “Through our day program, we focus on things like volunteering, social outings and recreational activities — basically anything that helps the individuals we serve feel more included and engaged in their community.”
The local program serves adults in Wayne County.
The cost of the fundraiser is $30 per person or $150 per team and includes two hours of bowling, shoe rental, one cheese pizza and a pitcher of pop per lane. All proceeds will directly benefit The Link-Wayne to help promote community inclusion and ensure the individuals it serves are seen as active and valued members of their community.
Sponsors and raffle items are still needed. Sign up online to bowl or sponsor at interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=E246052&id=51. Walk-in individual bowlers also will be accepted on the night of the event.

“Supporting The Link's Bowling Fundraiser means more than just enjoying a fun evening,” Collins said. “It's about making a true difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Wayne County. The money raised from this event helps us provide meaningful opportunities for the individuals we serve to participate and engage in their community, learn new skills and build lasting relationships. We believe in the power of inclusion and the importance of community connections.
“Our day program focuses on enabling the individuals we serve to explore their interests while also contributing to society in a meaningful way. By attending our fundraiser, you are not only supporting these initiatives, but also celebrating the achievements and potential of every individual we serve at The Link-Wayne. Your participation helps us continue our mission and ensures the individuals have the resources and support they need to live their best lives.”
