Amateur photographers of all ages are invited to capture and share their creative perspectives during the 15th annual photo contest at the Atwood Area Fall Festival, set for Oct. 3-5 at Atwood Lake Park.
The contest, managed by the Focus Point photo club, will showcase submissions in three themed categories: Friendship, Transportation and Hiding in Plain Sight. Both youth and adult divisions are available, with youth entries limited to those age 17 and under. Anyone age 18 or older must enter the adult category.
Each participant may submit up to three photographs, one per category, with a $4 entry fee per photo. Entries must be original and taken by the entrant using either a camera or cellphone. Minimal digital editing is allowed such as color and contrast adjustments or cropping.
Photographs should not exceed 11-by-14 inches in size including any matting and must be mounted on foam board or a stiff backer. No frames or glass will be accepted. Each submission should include the photographer’s name, contact information and the chosen category, clearly labeled on the back. Entry forms must not be taped to the photo.
Photo submissions and payment are to be delivered to the Weaver Photo Barn in Camp Area H, across from the restrooms, Thursday, Oct. 2 from 3-7 p.m. Entrants unable to deliver at that time may contact Focus Point members in advance to arrange early drop-off.
Winning entries will receive ribbons for first, second and third place in each category. Submitted photographs will remain on display throughout the festival and can be picked up Sunday, Oct. 5 from 3-5 p.m., unless alternate arrangements are made. While care will be taken to protect all submissions, organizers note neither Focus Point, the Atwood Fall Festival Committee nor the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District will be responsible for any damages.
The entry form and additional contest details are available at www.atwoodfallfest.org/attractions-and-shows, on the Focus Point Facebook page, or by contacting Christy Penland-McMillan at christy.penland@gmail.com or 740-255-6880 or Julie Murray at j.a.murray@roadrunner.com.
