OneEighty to host family-friendly Pottery Day in Holmes County

Hands-on pottery event Jan. 24 at West Holmes Middle School invites families to create art while supporting OneEighty’s mission.

Holmes County Friends of OneEighty will host a family-friendly Pottery Day Jan. 24 at West Holmes Middle School, inviting all ages to create and glaze a pottery piece while supporting OneEighty’s mission.

Holmes County Friends of OneEighty invites families across the community to join it for its Pottery Day, returning Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at West Holmes Middle School, 10901 state Route 39, Millersburg.

This hands-on event will welcome all ages — including parents — to design and glaze their own pottery piece under the guidance of Amy Rohr, West Holmes Middle School art teacher. No reservations are required. The fee is $15 per participant. Attendees can create one pottery piece, which will be fired and ready for pickup in February.

“Pottery Day is one of our favorite annual events,” said Mimi Lawhead, president of Holmes County Friends of OneEighty. “It gives families the chance to spend time together while creating a unique pottery piece and supporting a great cause.”
