National memorial exhibit coming to New Philadelphia
The national memorial exhibit, “Remembering Our Fallen,” will make a stop at the New Philadelphia VFW Post 1445 from Aug. 28 through Sept. 1. The display will be located at 441 Park Ave. NW and is free to the public.
This memorial features 34 Tribute Towers displaying military and personal photos of nearly 5,391 service members who died from wounds sustained in Iraq and Afghanistan between Sept. 11, 2001, and Aug. 30, 2021. The exhibit was first unveiled nationally in late 2017 on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Organizers are actively seeking to connect with Gold Star families to ensure every American who died in the Global War on Terror is honored. There is no cost for families to participate. Loved ones can visit www.RememberingOurFallen.org to submit basic information and two photographs of their fallen family member.
