Mark Dearing Memorial 5k set for September
Runners and walkers are invited to take part in the Mark Dearing Memorial 5k Sunday, Sept. 14 at Craig Pittman Memorial Park in Navarre. The event honors the life and service of former Bethlehem Township Trustee Mark Dearing, who died in December 2023 following cancer.
The 5k will take place on the Stark Parks Towpath Trail in West Stark County. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Erie Valley Fire Department and the Navarre Bethlehem Park Board, continuing Dearing’s legacy of dedication to the local community.
Race-day events will begin with a 100-yard kids fun run at 8:45 a.m., open to children age 8 and under. Registration for the fun run is $10 through July 31. The main 5k run and walk will start at 9 a.m., with a registration fee of $35 through July 31. Prices increase after that date.
Participants can register at www.racepenguin.com/events/mark-dearing-memorial.
