Make a difference and run for Wooster Board of Ed
Letter to the Editor,
In November this year, Wooster will elect three of the five seats of its local school board. We need many people with different ideas to run for those three seats to give the community a broad range of choices. Those people need to start thinking about how they will run now. I am one of them.
Putting yourself out there to run for public office is an intimidating task, but the board of elections is doing what it can to make it easier. On Tuesdays, May 20 and June 24 at 7 p.m., the board of elections will host a candidate academy for anyone interested in running. Registration is required so they can have copies of all the learning materials ready for us. You can find more information on the board of elections website under Candidate Academy.
It is not an easy thing to be a voice for the community. It requires a lot of sacrifice. If you are confident and committed, then I will see you there.
