Holmes County residents have until Oct. 6 to register to vote
Deadline approaching for Holmes County residents to register or update information before November election
Monday, Oct. 6 is the deadline for residents to register to vote or change their names or addresses for the Nov. 4 general election. Residents can register at the Holmes County Board of Elections in the Clinton Street Office Building, 75 E. Clinton St., Suite 108, Millersburg. The board of elections office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Monday, Oct. 6, the office will be open until 9 p.m.
Registration forms also are available at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or Holmes County District Public Library. To check registration status, update an address, register online or print forms to register by mail, visit www.voteohio.gov.
To vote, a person must be a U.S. citizen, be a resident of the county and precinct in which they plan to vote, be at least 18 years of age on or before the day of the general election, and have registered to vote at least 30 days prior to the election. Photo identification is required when appearing to vote at the polls.
Appearing on the ballot are races for judge of the Holmes County Municipal Court, Glenmont mayor (unexpired term), village council, member of board of public affairs, township trustee, member of Educational Service Center Governing Board and member of board of education. The ballot also will include tax issues, questions and local liquor options.
