The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club held its organizational meeting March 14 at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.
The meeting was opened for business by Vice President Braxton Tish. The United States Flag Pledge was led by JC Baker, and the 4-H Flag Pledge was led by Lelynd Edens/Hamilton. All club members and visitors introduced themselves.

The treasurer’s report was given by Baker.
The 2026 officers election took place, with the following officers elected: President Zander Croskey, Vice President Tish, Secretary Cameron Hinton, Treasurer Baker, Assistant Treasurer Hinton, Safety Leader Lucas Bailey, Health Leader Edens/Hamilton, and Recreation Leaders Jarrett Shaffer and Baker.
The group discussed 2026 project and discipline selection.
Community service projects were discussed and approved including aluminum can recycling, Mansfield National Guard Unit individual food item donations, Veteran Affairs goodie bags distribution for Holmes County veterans, Holmes-Wayne Electric Co-op Honor Trip letters for veterans, Holmes County Adopt-a-Road Program on Township Road 310, pop tabs for dialysis, TSC Demo Days, and cookie and candy trays for EMS, fire and other community service groups.
Disciplines for the day were rifle, shotgun and archery.
Refreshments were furnished by Patricia Lang.

The next club meeting will be held from noon to 2 p.m. April 11 at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.
