The Tuscarawas County YMCA will host the 24th annual Craig Rader Memorial Golf Outing on Thursday, Aug. 21 at Oak Shadows Golf Club in New Philadelphia. The event serves as a major fundraiser for the Y’s annual campaign, which supports local families and youth through financial assistance for memberships and programs.
Team registration will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The event will be an 18-hole, four-person scramble with an orange ball game and hole-in-one challenges. Participants also can win prizes through on-course games.
Meals, snacks and drinks are included with registration and available throughout the day. The event will conclude with a steak dinner, with dine-in and carryout options.
All proceeds benefit the YMCA’s annual campaign, which helps fund scholarships for programs such as preschool, summer day camp, after-school care, swim lessons, youth sports, gymnastics and the Teen Leaders Club.
“We look forward every summer to spending a day at the golf course, fundraising in honor of Craig Rader and building on his legacy of caring for the community,” said Jenny Dallas, executive assistant and outing coordinator. “Our goal is to raise $20,000 from the outing to help meet the need for program and membership assistance for our neighbors here in Tuscarawas County.”
