Nick Everett, the North Coast Athletic Conference and College of Wooster career leader in field-goal percentage, has signed a professional contract with San Ignacio Western Ballaz, which plays in the Belize Elite Basketball League.
Everett capped his Wooster career with a third All-NCAC honor. He made 65.3% (427-of-654) of his field goals over his four-year career. The alumnus’ percentage is the 16th-highest in NCAA Division III history. He scored 1,200 points, the 23rd most in program history and third most among transfer players.
The 2023-24 season was Everett’s best, as he was a first-team National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District and a second-team D3hoops.com All-Region selection. That year Everett was the NCAC Player of the Year after breaking NCAC and Wooster single-season records with a 72.8 (134-of-184) field-goal percentage. He finished just shy of an average of five made field goals per game, which would have qualified him for a top 25 single-season field-goal percentage in NCAA Div. III history.
During the 2023-24 season, Everett averaged a career-high 13.5 points per game. He made 24 consecutive field goals from Jan. 17 to Feb. 3, believed to be the program record, and came up two field goals shy of tying the all-time NCAA Div. III record for most consecutive makes.
For his career Everett averaged 10.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
Everett is the sixth Fighting Scot to sign a professional contract since the late 1980s.
The San Ignacio Western Ballaz regular season runs through August.
