EH BOE reviews leadership, approves staff changes
The East Holmes Local Schools Board of Education met for a regular meeting Friday, July 18 at the Central Office.
The board did several things during the meeting, including the following:
—Deemed Superintendent Erik Beun’s annual review as positive.
—Deemed Treasurer Daniel Reiman’s annual review as positive.
—Accepted the following resignation: Dawn Chamberlin, bus driver, effective at the end of the 2024-25 contractual year.
—Approved an increase in hours for Doris Miller, cook at Hiland, effective at the beginning of the 2025-26 contractual school year.
—Approved an increase in hours for Liza Holcomb, cook at Hiland, effective at the beginning of the 2025-26 contractual school year.
—Approved the following placement on the certified salary schedule, effective at the beginning of the 2025-26 contractual school year: Blaine Hoxworth to Master’s.
—Approved stipends for the teachers who completed Ohio’s Science of Reading required professional development. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has committed to reimbursing the stipend amounts for each teacher.
—Approved a one-year limited contract for the 2025-26 school year for the following
classified personnel, pending completion of all requirements: Dennis Bontrager, bus driver; Diane Schlabach, library aide at Mt. Hope; Carrie Ford, bus driver; and Erica Mencer, bus driver.
—Approved the following supplemental position for the 2025-26 school year: Aidan JoDon, junior high boys soccer coach.
—The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 15 at the Central Office.
