Donation fundraiser in Jan. to benefit African orphans
A donation fundraiser for an orphanage in Malawi, Africa will take place in January, with order forms at Red Tomato, 16000 E. Main St., Mt. Eaton, available each Friday and Saturday during the month.
This is a Crossroads Men’s Ministry outreach to help children who have no home, no parents and no family. The fundraiser will benefit the GSM Orphanage in Malawi, Africa, where, as of this month, 180 children are being fed and schooled.
During January orders will be taken for 1/4 and 1/2 chickens, by donation only. The chicken will be cooked by the Gerber Chicken barbecue cook for two days to meet all orders.
Pickup dates for orders will be at the Precision Power Equipment, located one block east of Red Tomato on state Route 250, on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Crossroads Men’s Ministry meets every first Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Crossroads Restaurant, located at state Route 183 and state Route 800 in Magnolia.
The nondenominational group is part of Victory World Outreach Inc., which has a vision to seek and save the lost. There are four parts of ministry within Victory World Outreach, created in 1999 by Dr. and Mrs. Gardiner Gentry to serve in Malawi, Africa. Victory World Outreach is a Christian-based nonprofit organization.
The vision of VWO is to have an eternal impact in Malawi, and its prayer is members will spread the Word of God, save souls, seek the lost, plant churches, develop pastors, continue to grow as a ministry and care for orphans.
