Column: Jesus lights our path

The moon was shining brightly while on my journey's road.

Its brightness lit the way even through a rocky abode.

Around some twisted bends and curves along the way,

I never lost sight ahead as my focus was determined to stay.

For a little while, it seemed I couldn't see the moon.

Although behind the trees, it appeared again soon.

Now God did put that moon up in the sky,

To light our way at night and through our lullaby.

It's God who determines where our every step goes,

And in the unique places, his presence to us he shows.

We know he is there because the Bible tells us so.

His light is always shining; it will never leave or go.

Beginning and end, alpha and omega God is.

He knows who is trusting and whose are his.

The path Jesus lights and leads is always good,

Even when we're doubting and feel misunderstood.

We trust in his care as he leads us to our eternal home,

Where one day in Heaven we'll see God's awesome throne.

We'll keep on going and persevering in the strength God gives.

We can make it because of Jesus and because Jesus lives!
