Local eatery Blue Moon Bistro will host a visit from America’s Best Restaurants in early August.
America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently owned restaurants, will bring its “ABR Roadshow” to the restaurant on Aug. 5. Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owner Shyann Galvan about the restaurant’s place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.
Open since 2021, Blue Moon Bistro serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and a specialty coffee menu in a modern-farmhouse-style ambience. They were nominated to be on an episode of the “Roadshow” by Peggy Hibbs, who wrote, “Delicious food, great service and located in a rural area where no other eateries are.”
Galvan, a single mother of three, hopes showcasing her business and her story on an episode of the “Roadshow” will inspire others not to give up on their goals. She said she has had a dream since she was 15 years old to open her own restaurant.
Breakfasts are specialties of the house, with menu items such as omelets, pancake wraps, Belgian waffles and specialty coffees available. Lunch and dinner offer sandwiches and wraps, salads and bowls, soups, and platters.
Popular menu items include Over the Moon Scramble, with choice of breakfast sausage, bacon or Taylor ham, eggs, hash browns, peppers and red onions, topped with cheddar jack and sausage gravy; burgers such as the Blue Moon Donut Burger, topped with bacon and cheese and served on a glazed grilled doughnut; or Shyann’s Favorite, with bacon, grilled red onions, barbecue sauce, and American and Swiss cheese served on a grilled brioche bun.
Galvan also operates a food truck called Over the Moon Street Edition.
America’s Best Restaurants will film on location on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. The restaurant’s finished episode premiere date will be announced on its Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website.
Restaurants featured on the “ABR Roadshow” are selected based on their customer reviews, menu items, social media presence and level of involvement with their community. They are found through customer nominations, internal vetting or by a restaurant applying to be featured at www.americasbestrestaurants.com.
