An Artful Gathering to showcase talent at HCA

The Holmes Center for the Arts recently announced An Artful Gathering, an art gala showcasing local talent. The free event, sponsored by The Keim Company, will take place at The Center Stage at Holmes Center for the Arts on Friday, Aug. 22 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 23 from noon to 3 p.m.

The event will feature a collection of works from local artists Mark Alexander and Mary Gilmore.

Attendees will have the opportunity to witness Hazel Alexander’s choreographed painting on Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Adding to the atmosphere, musical artist Jonny Shedron will perform live on Aug. 23 from noon to 3 p.m., providing music alongside the art.

The gala also will shine a spotlight on emerging talent with a Young Artist Spotlight featuring Frankie Schlabach on both days.

On Aug. 23 families can do crafts and get snacks while exploring the art.
