4-H club holds first meeting
On March 9 the newly formed Kind Cadets 4-H Club held its first official meeting at First Nazarene Church in New Philadelphia.
4-H adviser Christy Bloom introduced the club’s officers for the 2025 year: President Norah Russell, Vice President Lucy Brugger, secretary Willow Knobloch, health and safety officer Kenlee Kopp, Treasurer Owen Shurtz, recreation leader Leighton Lowery, and news reporter/historian Lyla Lowery.
Projects selected by club members include cake decorating, market hogs, pet rabbit, fishing, archery and cooking. Kind Cadets members Lucy Brugger (cake decorating) and Owen Russell (fishing) did demonstrations of their projects.
The club’s Cloverbuds will participate in a collecting project. The club’s service project will be June 14 with Operation Christmas Child. The next scheduled meeting will be April 13 at 4 p.m. in the First Nazarene Church, 233 Fair Ave. NE, New Philadelphia.
