Lions Clubs, Lake Schools name February honorees
Uniontown and Hartville Lions recognize students, staff, and volunteers for February contributions
The Lions Clubs of Uniontown and Hartville have joined forces to honor outstanding students, teachers, employees and volunteers of Lake Local Schools each month. Lake Local Board of Education President Scot Nabors and Uniontown Lion Greg Wickham presented the awards Feb. 23. Each honoree received a framed certificate and a gift certificate to local businesses. The Lions Club is a nonprofit service organization that raises funds for projects and activities to support the community.
Students
Bronson Harris, a third-grade student at Lake Elementary School, is the son of Brandon and Brittini Harris. He is recognized as a responsible, dedicated student who builds community in the classroom and helps peers when needed.
Lillian “Lilly” Stalder, a third-grade student at Lake Elementary School, is the daughter of Christina and Brian Stalder. She is noted for her quiet leadership, strong work ethic and willingness to help classmates.
Hian Salgado, a fifth-grade student at Lake Elementary School, is the son of Maribel Diaz and Jose Melendes. He is recognized for his perseverance, positive attitude and teamwork on and off the soccer field.
Hannah Hefner, a fifth-grade student at Lake Elementary School, is the daughter of Jaime and Darin Hefner. She is an academically strong student and a positive leader in the classroom.
Rafaela Ruic-Zielinski, an eighth-grade student at Lake Middle/High School, is the daughter of Rachel Ruic and Eugene Zielinski. She is recognized for her effort and talent in art.
Bently Barnes, an eighth-grade student at Lake Middle/High School, is the son of Nicole and Heath Barnes. He is noted as a creative, dependable and respectful art student.
Adella Coblentz, a senior at Lake Middle/High School, is the daughter of Sarah and Zachary Coblentz. She is recognized for her leadership, positive attitude and role as CEO of her senior business team.
Ethan Morrow, a senior at Lake Middle/High School, is the son of Jennifer and Matthew Morrow. He is honored for his strong attendance, leadership and service in the Health Tech program.
Teacher of the Month
Amy Cantley, who transitioned from teaching seventh-grade social studies to English language arts, is recognized for her adaptability, collaborative spirit and ability to support and inspire students.
Employee of the Month
Shaunna James, clinic aide at Lake Middle/High School, is honored for her work supporting the medical needs of more than 1,600 students and staff members and for her calm, compassionate presence.
Volunteer of the Month
Meganne Jarvis, Lake Primary PTO president, is recognized for her leadership and dedication, including organizing initiatives such as a grandparent breakfast, snack and caffeine carts, classroom supply support and a new fenced-in playground area.
