The Lake High School Drama Club will continue its run of Thornton Wilder’s classic “Our Town” Nov. 14-16 at the Lake Performing Arts Hall, 709 Market Ave. SW, Uniontown. The production, directed by drama club advisor Emily Walls, will take the stage at 7 p.m. Nov. 14-15 and 2 p.m. Nov. 16. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults.
Walls said “Our Town” – which was also presented Wednesday, Nov. 12 with a different cast – is “a beautiful example of embracing the mundane things in life.”
“It begs the watchers to take a moment to slow down and look at the world around them a little bit closer,” she said.
She added that one of the unique challenges of the show is its minimal staging.
“There aren’t supposed to be any real props — the actors pantomime them,” Walls said. “This was a new and exciting challenge for the performers, and I think it really made them start to think outside the box.”
The play’s rotating casts will feature dozens of Lake students across two performance lineups.
